阿布拉莫维奇《艺术家宣言》(评注版)

【按】在2010年纽约现代美术馆(MOMA)举办的阿布拉莫维奇(Marina Abramović)回顾展上,阿布拉莫维奇公开了这份由创作及生活的经验积累而来的《艺术家宣言》(An artist’s life Manifesto )。原载于《画廊》杂志2012年10月刊。这份宣言在这个时代具有代表性,可以被看作当代艺术家的理想宣言,但也有一些问题,比如将艺术的功能和艺术家的角色过度神化(宗教化),过度抽离后的个人主义,比如与创造源头的关系等等。因此我也根据自己对艺术的理解、经验和理念,对此作出一些标注,文中红色标注部分为我个人看法。

【注】我更倾向于这样表达,看待自己越深越有可能接近造物主,但艺术家不是造物主,艺术家潜意识里模仿造物主。艺术家就是不断追寻自己独特性的人,然而只有在真正认识造物主之后,艺术家才可能真正认识自己是谁。

一切灵感都源自亲自启示人类的造物主,灵感的枯竭源自艺术家在自己独特呼召中的迷失。

艺术家就是宇宙,有自己的起源规律和温度,但艺术家绝不是孤岛。

【注】从何处接收?给予何处?也许可以参照这样的坐标:横向——人群与历史,纵向——造物主与真我。很多艺术家只有横向的透明度,很多艺术家只有纵向的透明度,鲜有两者都保持透明度的艺术家。

【注】艺术需要提示死亡,否则人们会忘记自己会死。但艺术家更需要喊出更新,重新创造的能力和可能性,否则艺术就变得虚无。生命如果不能从毁灭中复活进入永恒,一切意义都不过是时效问题而已。艺术家与其修炼用强大的意志不去怕死,不如多想想有没有可能怀着必然复活的信心和确据释然地死去。

【注】艺术品一旦进入公众,作者就不要控制他们如何“正确”看待你的作品。人一旦死去,也无法控制导演他人如何看待你的人生。因此,比葬礼更重要的艺术品,可能是艺术家这一生的故事——艺术家本人。在永恒里,没有最后一件艺术品,只有被重新创造的世界(人、万物)。
